Whats the point of an app that blocks its own content

A Disney app designed to access Disney content that wont let you login to view said content - brilliant!!
App auto updated, now cant log in via cable providers because the app is blocking its own login pages. Friggin idiot developers - did anyone even test this update before releasing it?
